Melissa King, DVM was recent awarded the Storm Cat Career Development Award by the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. Dr. King will be working on a study of the role of underwater treadmill exercise in diminishing the development of osteoarthritis.

Arlene is a 1998 graduate in Physical Therapy from Florida A & M University, and is certified in Equine Sports Massage through the FL College of Natural Health. She established HorsePower Equine Sports Therapeutics, in 1998 and in 2000 she purchased the Animal Rehab Institute facility located in Palm Beach County, FL.  In 2007 she completed her Masters Degree in Animal Physiotherapy Therapy at Queensland University in Australia.  Arlene's research on equine limb kinematics using tactile stimulation of the distal limb in horses has been published in both the Vet Comp Orthop Traumatol in 2008 and the Equine Veterinary Journal in 2009.
